Week 1: Introduction to MKTG

The first week of class we talked about how businesses and advertisements try to connect to someones personal experiences to make a connection between their consumers and the company. Advertisers try to make a "customer loyalty" type pitch to influence the product and show how "cool" you will be if you use the certain product.




The video above is an advertisment from Starbucks that is trying to sell a lifestyle with their promotion video of "going green" type promotion. The video asks you to "join the grassroots movement, Are YOU in?" Its trying to influence the consumers that going to Starbucks will promote the grassroots movement and if you drink their coffee, you are contributing to the movement!
